Myth 1: You should only visit a chiropractor when you’re in pain
In fact you should be visiting your Chiro regularly before you run into a problem. Making Chiro visits part of your weekly or monthly routine will have long term benefits. Just like brushing your teeth, PREVENTION is the key to maintaining good health.
Here at Human Movement Co. we are also passionate about EDUCATION. Each session is tailored to the individual, including information you can take and continue your health journey at home.
Myth 2: Cracking your knuckles is bad for you
Some information floating around often associated knuckle cracking with an increased risk of arthritis, there is no scientific evidence to back this up. However the WAY you’re cracking your knuckles may be harmful.
You should be PULLING your fingers away from your hand, this can actually assist with relieving arthritis symptoms. You shouldn’t be COMPRESSING your knuckles, this can put excess strain on your joints.
Myth 3: Visiting the chiro during pregnancy is just for preventing and relieving back pain
Visiting the chiro will assist with back pain, but even more importantly it can also assist with LABOUR.
The alignment of the pelvis can greatly impact the time a woman is in labour. A misaligned pelvis may mean a longer and potentially more painful labour. Your chiropractor can help by making sure the pelvis is functioning correctly, allowing the baby to have a short and straightforward journey.
